Donated by the artist, Member of National Association of Women Artists, Inc.: "Inspiration to create comes through a sense of enchantment I feel for my subjects."
Note: Lynn Ray is a contemporary painter whose inspiration comes from her affinity for domestic life in Hull Village. Her paintings explore the push and pull of light, form, and space. Whether inspiration takes place indoors or out, the focus of her work celebrates the moment-to-moment experience of seeing the world through a sense of enchantment. Her work captures the vibrant energy and affinity she feels for her subjects. Recent work is inspired by the cacophony of ever-changing sights at McDevitt's boatyard at Pemberton Point.
Ray works as an art director for two established Scottish interest magazines, published by Neill Kennedy Ray. Before transitioning to work in the publishing field, she worked professionally in the graphic arts field for ten years at a large Boston ad agency.
She continues to study art at the South Shore Art Center, Cohasset, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
Ray is a National Association of Women Artists juried member; National Association of Women Artists – Massachusetts Chapter and South Shore Art Center, Gallery Artist member since 2017.
